When we heard that this year’s Master Cutler’s Challenge 2023 was supporting the Education and Community Projects at Wentworth Woodhouse we had to get involved.

From the 1st May our team took up a weekly challenge of walking the same distance as it would take from our office in Chapeltown to Wentworth Woodhouse. Overall they exceeded their target, completing 6,216,746 steps, equivalent to walking to Wentworth Woodhouse 345 times. They also beat their £500 target, raising £640 towards the impressive £170,000 total amount raised.

Each year, the Master Cutler of Hallamshire chooses a charity to be supported through the Master Cutler’s Challenge.

Linda Spencer, MD comments

"We’ve been a Friend of the Master Cutler of Hallamshire for many years and Wentworth Woodhouse is somewhere I personally visit and value, so this fundraiser gave us the chance to support them both and have a bit of team fun."

Dame Julie Ann Kenny DBE DL, trustee of Wentworth Woodhouse comments

“Wentworth Woodhouse is one of the core pillars in South Yorkshire providing community and educational programmes and delivering training in dedicated skills such as entrepreneurship, conservation, heritage, digital and hospitality. It is not only about the building but supports a wide range of people and communities in low-income households, including ethnic and minority interests and disability groups to help enrich their lives with cultural activities.
The challenge might have come to an end but fundraising at Wentworth Woodhouse continues as long as we have a community to serve, and we would be delighted if the team at PEP were able to support us again in the future.”
