As part of their efforts to meet net zero targets, they asked for help in understanding their energy use to look for reduction opportunities. Following initial discussions, Energy manager Jason Martin kicked the project off by carrying out a thorough energy audit across their two buildings.
This uncovered several energy efficiency options starting with an upgrade to the existing lighting system. Another key finding was to ensure the boiler is working more efficiently by introducing intelligent boiler controls. This would help to minimise how often it fires up without affecting the buildings temperature. Other opportunities are being explored that will provide significant long-term savings, reduce emissions, and make them less reliant on traditional energy sources.
