Build Your Career in Energy Management

Are you interested in energy efficiency, sustainability and helping businesses make a real difference? We are looking for a motivated Trainee Energy Assessor / Manager to join our growing Energy Management team.
As businesses increasingly look for ways to reduce energy costs, improve efficiency and cut carbon emissions, the need for practical energy management expertise continues to grow. At PEP, we help our clients understand their energy use, identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions that support their commercial and sustainability goals.
Now, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in this evolving sector.
A Role Where You Can Learn, Develop and Make a Difference
Our Trainee Energy Assessor / Manager position is ideal for someone with an interest in energy, engineering, building services or sustainability who wants to develop their technical knowledge and gain hands-on experience.
You’ll work alongside our experienced Energy Management and Procurement teams, supporting projects for commercial and public sector clients. From building assessments and energy data analysis to carbon reporting and identifying energy-saving opportunities, you’ll gain insight into the many ways energy management can help organisations operate more efficiently.
A key part of the role will be training as a Commercial and Domestic Energy Assessor, developing your understanding of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and building the skills needed to carry out assessments and produce professional reports.
You’ll also have opportunities to get involved in energy audits, carbon footprint calculations, sustainability reporting and desktop solar assessments, giving you a broad foundation for a future career in energy management.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive and keen to learn. You should have a practical approach to problem-solving, good communication skills and the ability to organise your workload effectively.
An understanding of Commercial and Domestic EPCs would be beneficial, alongside an interest in energy efficiency, sustainability or the built environment. Experience working with data, spreadsheets or technical reports would also be an advantage.
Most importantly, we want someone who is enthusiastic about developing their skills and contributing to meaningful projects that help businesses reduce energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves travelling to local client sites.
Develop Your Skills and Build a Long-Term Career
At PEP, we believe in helping our people grow. You’ll receive full training, ongoing professional development and support from experienced colleagues as you build your technical knowledge and confidence.
As your experience develops, you’ll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, manage projects more independently and progress towards an Energy Manager role.
This is more than an entry point into the energy sector. It’s an opportunity to develop a varied skill set across energy assessment, efficiency, carbon management and sustainability, with a clear pathway for career progression.
Interested in Joining Our Team?
Based in Manvers, Rotherham, PEP works with businesses and public sector organisations to help them manage energy more effectively, reduce costs and identify opportunities for long-term carbon savings.
If you’re ready to develop your technical skills, learn from experienced professionals and build a career in a sector that is making a growing contribution to business and environmental goals, we’d love to hear from you.
