Professional Energy People (PEP) has been appointed as the official energy consultants to conduct forty energy efficiency audits for businesses across the York and North Yorkshire region. The programme will support a range of organisations including charities, manufacturers, leisure centres, and more.

The initiative is funded by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA) and the UK Government via its allocated £8,782,899 UK Shared Prosperity Fund. YNYCA has earmarked part of this funding to support businesses in transitioning towards environmental sustainability.

Under the programme, PEP will conduct comprehensive on-site energy audits, followed by detailed reports outlining opportunities for energy and carbon savings. These reports will include practical recommendations, priority actions, and financial considerations to help businesses develop actionable energy improvement plans.

The contract, which runs until March 2026, builds on PEP’s extensive energy management expertise gained through other government-led projects across the UK.

Linda Spencer, Managing Director of Professional Energy People, said:"We are thrilled to be selected for this project and to help YNYCA make a positive impact towards their climate targets. Our team has extensive experience working with businesses and local authorities, and we are committed to helping organisations understand practical ways to reduce carbon, energy consumption, and costs using tried and tested methods."
