We have extended our successful partnership with the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce to give its members tailored advice and support in becoming Net Zero.

The new service, which is available to all members of the Chamber, includes a free initial energy consultation. Any subsequent energy audits will provide tailored recommendations on potential savings, new energy efficiency technology investment, pay back periods, and advice on behavioural change.

This is designed to help companies understand how they are using energy and, in many cases, wasting it. We know that businesses waste on average 20% of the energy they use and have helped some clients reduce energy consumption by up to 33%.

We can also advise on procuring green energy, implementing new policies and targets, understanding energy legislation and government policies, and implementing renewable energy sources into buildings.

The new Net Zero service is an expansion of the partnership between our two businesses which has been providing Chamber members with energy procurement services for the past 6 years.

The announcement comes during the global climate summit – COP26 – where world leaders are discussing the environmental crisis. Sheffield Chamber is encouraging members to sign up to the service and take their own positive steps towards a Net Zero future.

Louisa Harrison-Walker, Interim Executive Director at Sheffield Chamber of Commerce says

“Sheffield has the ambition to become a zero-carbon city by 2030. We know that many of our members and businesses across the city want to do their bit but knowing where to start on their own journey to Net Zero can be confusing and overwhelming.

“The new Net Zero service is the perfect first step. Professional Energy Purchasing (PEP) have three decades’ experience and we are delighted that now, through Chamber membership, businesses can team up with the experts to put real, actionable plans in place to becoming Net Zero companies.

“We want to make Sheffield the best city in the UK to start, run, and grow a business. Supporting companies to put sustainability at the forefront of their plans, is ones of the ways we are doing this.”

Linda Spencer, MD at PEP comments “We are really excited to launch this new Net Zero service to members and build on the fantastic partnership we have with the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.

We’ve seen a big demand for support with energy and carbon reduction planning over the last year, partly driven by the increase in energy prices. This complements our existing business energy procurement, to ensure members are getting the best prices for gas, electricity and water whilst looking at ways to reduce energy and plan for climate targets.

The new service will be delivered by Jason Martin, our specialist energy manager who has decades of experience in providing energy efficiency solutions for major brands and SMEs. This in-house position guarantees ongoing impartial advice, and a first-class service which clients expect from us.”
