At Professional Energy People, we excel in helping businesses and not-for-profit organisations uncover energy and carbon savings to boost sustainability.
Our extensive site surveys yield comprehensive energy reports, forming the foundation of energy strategies and grant funding requirements.
And our support doesn’t stop there. We’ve guided many organisations to secure grants for renewable investments highlighted within their plans. Our collaboration with North East Derby District Council (NEDDC) on the Low Carbon Challenge Fund is a prime example.
On their request, we conducted a thorough energy survey at St Barnabas Community Centre, a vital hub for local groups and events. Our report pinpointed several energy and carbon reduction opportunities, in particular the installation of solar panels and battery storage.
We provided detailed evaluations, including investment costs, payback periods, and carbon reductions, ensuring eligibility for available funding. This led to a successful grant award of £15,000, with a payback period of just over 5 years and saving over 3 tonnes of CO2e per year.
Long-term, this improvement will cut energy bills by enabling self-generation and reduced consumption, freeing up more resources for community initiatives.
Jonathan at St Barnabas Centre comments
"The support from the team at Professional Energy People has been fantastic. They’ve been with us every step of the way, from the energy audit to the grant application. Their practical approach simplified a complex process. Without the £15,000 funding, we couldn’t have considered the renewable investments essential for the centre’s long-term success and sustainability.
Huge thanks go to PEP and the team at NEDDC for steering us towards a low-carbon future."
The Low Carbon Challenge Fund is one of several initiatives rolled out across the region by North East Derbyshire District Council (NEDDC) to help communities transition towards a low-carbon economy.
This fund is specifically available to businesses within the Clay Cross Town Deal area, one of over 100 towns in England to receive the funding to help in its regeneration. View here for more information about the funding.
